Description
I visited Netherlands in 2015, one of the main reasons being my passion about Vincent van Gogh paintings. 2015 was exactly 125 years since the death of Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890). This moment was seized by Netherlands to honor the famous Dutch artist in many locations, Amsterdam, Keukenhof, Otterloo etc.
The Keukenhof Flowers Park theme for 2015 was Van Gogh. The highlight of the Van Gogh-year was a 250m² flowers mosaic of Vincent van Gogh made up of thousands of tulips and grape hyacinths (muscari bulbs).
The flower show in the Orange Nassau Pavilion shows the splendid combinations of van Gogh paintings and thousands of flowers. Many scenes depicting aspects of his life transformed this pavilion in one of the most beautiful art and flowers exhibition! I had the chance to visit it!
In this photo, beautiful arrangements of spring flowers, on the "almond blossoms" background. "Almond blossom" is from a group of several paintings made in 1888 and 1890 by Vincent van Gogh in Arles and Saint-Rémy, southern France of blossoming almond trees. Flowering trees were special to van Gogh. They represented awakening and hope. He enjoyed them aesthetically and found joy in painting flowering trees.
