I painted this after one of my holidays spent on Hydra island.

I have been always fascinated by the idyllic island of Hydra, with its picturesque landscapes and crystal-clear waters. The island is more beautiful than I imagined!
One day, while exploring the island, I came across this particularly striking scene, a magnificent belle viewpoint, where you can stay forever to listen to the sea. I knew in that moment that I had to capture this scene in my art!

This realistic oil painting captures the serene beauty of Hydra island, with a stunning sea view that stretches out into the horizon. The iconic pine tree stands tall and proud, its branches reaching towards the sky, while a wooden bench sits behind it, with two lovers staying in the peaceful scenery.

This scene gives me a sense of longing for Hydra island. This is often accompanied by a sense of peace and tranquility as if the island holds a special, healing power. The longing is a mix of emotions, a mix of the peacefulness and beauty of the island, and the longing for the unknown, for the experiences yet to be had.
